Policy Statement
"Safeguarding is at the heart of everything we do."
Intervention Initiatives is committed to promoting the welfare, safety, and wellbeing of all children, young people, and vulnerable adults with whom we work. Safeguarding is at the heart of everything we do.
We deliver training, educational programmes, therapeutic interventions, and group work directly to children, young people, vulnerable adults, and professionals. We recognise our responsibility to create safe environments where all participants are treated with dignity, respect, and care.
Intervention Initiatives will:
Place the welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults at the centre of our work.
Take all reasonable steps to protect individuals from abuse, neglect, exploitation, discrimination, and harm.
Ensure safeguarding concerns are taken seriously and responded to promptly and appropriately.
Work in partnership with families, schools, statutory agencies, and other professionals to promote safety and wellbeing.
Maintain safer recruitment practices, including appropriate references, safeguarding checks, and DBS checks where required.
Ensure staff, associates, volunteers, and facilitators receive safeguarding training appropriate to their role.
Provide clear procedures for reporting, recording, and responding to safeguarding concerns.
Respect confidentiality while recognising that safeguarding concerns must be shared with appropriate agencies when necessary to protect an individual from harm.
Any safeguarding concern relating to a child, young person, or vulnerable adult participating in our services will be recorded and referred in accordance with local safeguarding procedures and statutory guidance.
Where there is concern that an individual is at risk of significant harm, Intervention Initiatives will make referrals to Children's Social Care, Adult Social Care, the Police, or other relevant agencies without delay.
All staff, volunteers, and contractors are expected to:
Adhere to our safeguarding policies and procedures.
Maintain appropriate professional boundaries.
Promote a culture of openness, accountability, and respect.
Report concerns, disclosures, allegations, or incidents immediately.
Complete safeguarding training and updates as required.
Intervention Initiatives is committed to safeguarding all individuals regardless of age, disability, ethnicity, race, religion, belief, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, or socio-economic background. We believe every individual has the right to feel safe, valued, and heard.
This Safeguarding Policy Statement is reviewed regularly to ensure compliance with current legislation, government guidance, and best practice.
